Travel/Club Lacrosse
.
There are several club lacrosse options – EGR LC does not endorse or recommend any particular club. Every family’s situation is different.
A few things families have found helpful to understand before committing to a club:
-
What the full year costs, including dues, uniforms, tournaments and travel
-
Refund policies
-
Who the primary coaches will be for your player’s team
-
The tournament and travel schedule, including which bracket your team will be entered in
-
Where and how often the team practices
-
How teams and levels are set
-
Other players on the roster
-
What happens if your player gets injured or plans change
-
Whether you can chat with a current family on the team
-
Box lacrosse coaches, schedules, tourneys, prices if that is important to you
If your player hopes to play in college, it can also help to find out:
-
Where the club’s recent college commits have come from, including its newer regions
-
Whether players will have a chance to try out for the club’s National or Regional teams this year
Another helpful resource is usclublax.com. You can look up a club’s team in your player’s grad year to see its ranking, strength of schedule, and the tournaments it played last year. If you’re thinking long term, it’s also worth checking how the club’s high school teams have performed in the last year.
